This showpiece is highly unusual for several reasons: it is mostly burl, and koa rarely makes burl. Second, it is a deep chocolate-brown, another uncommon occurance in koa. It is done in a level-4 hand-rubbed tung oil finish. A highly unusual piece for the serious collector.
